The two diagrams depict the transformation of a local museum and its surrounding area between 1957 and 2007.
Overall, the museum was considerably expanded and modernised, with several new facilities introduced inside the building and a car park replacing much of the original garden.
In 1957, the museum consisted of a national history exhibition, a local history room, and a storeroom linked to the entrance hall. Half a century later, the internal layout had been comprehensively reorganised. The national history display was replaced by a special exhibitions section in the northeast, while the local history room was relocated to the centre and enlarged. A café and a reception area were created in the south, and the shop was moved to the west beside a new main entrance. An education centre was also established in the northeastern wing.
Outside, most of the garden space was cleared to accommodate a car park, while the main road remained unchanged. However, the original pathway leading to the entrance was removed.
