The two maps give information on how regional museum and its nearby area changed between 1957 and 2007.
Overall, the museum building was significantly expanded with the addition of several new rooms, while, the garden area of museum decreased considerably over the 50-year period.
In 1957, there were large number of trees around the museum, particularly behind it, to its left, and near the road. By 2007, many of trees had been uprooted, with only a few remaining in the northwest part of the museum grounds. Additionally, a large portion of the green area was replaced with a car park, making access more convenient for visitors arriving by vehicle. Meanwhile, the main entrance, which was previously located in the middle of the museum, was relocated to the left side of the building in 2007. The former entrance area was replaced with a reception desk and a café in the same year.
Regarding the inside of the museum, it was enlarged with some additional rooms. In 1957, the building consisted of a national history exhibition, a local history room, and a museum storeroom. However, by 2007, the national history exhibition had been replaced with a local history room, while instead of local history room it had been restored with museum shop. Furthermore, an education centre and a special exhibitions were added after local history room.
