The diagram illustrates the production of ethanol fuel from corn.
Overall, there are nine steps in the process of utilizing corn to make ethanol fuel, initiating with harvesting corn and finishing with ethanol being transported to the gas station.
At the beginning step of the process, corn is harvested before being stored in the next stage. After that, stored corn is crushed in a milling machine. Then, with the help of water, the powder is cooked in the next 4 hours.
Following that, the cooked corn is fermented, which takes 2 days. Next, after separating into liquid and solid products, the workers only make use of the liquid for the purification process lasting 5 hours, with a view to eliminating impurities and creating the final product – ethanol fuel. Finally, the purifying ethanol is stored for a set period of time, and is later delivered to the gas station, ready to be sold.
