Leather goods has been used since the 1900’s and it has been passed down through many generations, the production of the leather goods however isn’t easy.
Animals skins are used in the production of leather goods, the animal skin will undergo the drying process, it will then be shipped to the factory, where it will go through many of the other processes.
In the factory, the dried animal skin will be washed to clean off any bacteria, using water and lime, afterwards the washed skin will be soaked again in lime, to get rid of the animal stench. The next process is to flatten out the animal skin giving it a thinner structure, which will make it easier for the designers or manufactures to turn it into products or goods.
The skin will then go through with the tannin process where the washed skin wilk be soaked in water and vegetable matter. The polishing process is the next step to turn the animal skin into good that could be sold. The animal skin will then be ready to be shipped to manufacturers or factories to be turned into pricey goods.
