The picture illustrates the process by which oil extracted in production of perfume.
Overall, the process includes 4 stages divided into two periods, with various mechanical and thermal procedures. The period starts with heating water and ends with the products of hydrolat (aromatic water).
At the start, fire is applied to heat water in container to make it become stream. The stream then goes through a special kind of tube to the chamber filled with aromatic plants where it carries aromatic compounds from the plants along with it. At this stage, it contains a mixture of stream and oil vapor that flows into the condenser.
In the third stage, the aromatic steam vapor moves through a condensation which includes cold water comes into it at the bottom and hot water pours out through a special tube on the top. The condensed liquid, which is a mixture of water and essential oil continue flows to a y-shaped container where the essential oil is extracted through one outlet, while the hydrolat (aromatic water) is collected through another as the final product.
