Different ways of reusing rainwater for household purposes have been demonstrated in the diagram.
To commence with, rainwater can be stored in dedicated tanks at homes or in a dam. The water collected in a dam is transferred for a treatment process in a water treatment plant. After removing all the impurities, this water can be used for drinking purposes. Besides this, the rainwater collected in household tanks can be used for different purposes.
Meanwhile, domestic wastewater can be treated in a wastewater treatment plant before releasing it into a river. Once wastewater is treated, the recycled water can further be used in different ways at houses, while excess treated water is released into river bodies. Furthermore, stormwater which is not absorbed by land can be treated before releasing it into freshwater bodies.
Overall, it is evident that the rainwater can be reused for domestic purposes from numerous sources such as treatment plants, rainwater tanks and many more.
