The flow chart below illustrates the process of how the sugar is made from the sugarcane
Sugar is basically made by evaporating the excess water from sugarcane juice which is then crystalized to form raw sugar. Removing impurities from this and further crystalizing gives the final product, sugar.
The process starts by picking the sugarcanes, these sugarcanes are then squeezed which results in extraction of sugarcane juice, there may be some plant fibers in it which can be removed for further process, in the later stage this juice is boiled, due to this the excess water from this juice is eliminated this is done until this liquid crystalizes, now this thick liquid is loaded onto a centrifuge which ensures further separation of crystals from liquid which gives raw form of sugar.
Now this raw sugar is then transported to sugar refinery for purification process here this raw sugar is melted to remove the remaining impurities and extra colour in this stage we get sugar syrup as a product this syrup is now crystalised and dried to form the final product which can now be packed and is ready for distribution.
