The diagram shows the process of making compost from organic waste, which can be used as fertilizer in gardens.
Overall, the process has five steps, starting with preparing a container and ending with finished compost after six months.
First of all, a plastic container with a size of two cubic meters is prepared. Some small holes are made in the sides of the container so that air can go inside. After that, different kinds of waste are put into the container. These include food remains, grass, and newspaper. The materials are placed in layers, each one about 15 cm thick.
Next, nitrogen and hot water are added to the mixture. These help the materials decompose faster. Then, the container is closed and left for around six months. During this time, the air from the holes helps the waste break down naturally.
Finally, the organic waste is turned into compost. This product can be used in the garden to improve soil and help plants grow better.
