The table demonstrates how much carbon dioxide is emitted hourly for nine different types of aircraft.
Overall, it is noticeable that the most expensive and fuel-consuming ones are the Gulfstream types of jets, which also emit the highest amount of carbon dioxide. However, the figure for the Cessna CJ 2 shows the most economical and energy-efficient type of aircraft.
Looking first for the highest figures, the Gulfstream 3 accounted for the largest amount of fuel expenditure with 488 gallons and 378 gallons of fuel hourly for the Gulfstream 550, respectively. Hence, they both release the largest amount of pounds of CO2, that is, 10,078 for the Gulfstream 3 and 8,342 for the Gulfstream 550. Interestingly, the price of a flight for the Gulfstream types of jets is the same as for the Challenger 605, which costs $6,750. But this aircraft gives off a significantly less amount of carbon dioxide, which is 6,180 and uses 280 gallons of fuel.
Moving on to the lowest figures, the Cessna CJ 2 produced around 3,000 pounds because it only needs 136 gallons of fuel hourly, with a cost of $2,700. The Beechjet 400 and Hawker 400 XP are showing the same price as the Cessna CJ 2. Even though they need approximately 185 gallons and produce about 4,100 pounds of carbon dioxide.
The Cessna Citation XLS, Learjet 60, and Hawker 800 XP cost $4,500 hourly, and they all need to consume around 200 gallons, and then they emit about 4,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per hour.
