The table displays the percentages of consumer expenditure of five European countries according to three distinct categories in 2002.
Overall, in all the five countries, Turkey held the highest figures for two categories, food/drinks/tobacco and leisure/education that were the largest and almost proportion’s respectively among the five countries shown. And for the rest category, clothing/footwear, that recorded the largest in Italy.
Among Ireland, Spain, and Turkey, the percentages for clothing/footwear were similar, at around 6.5% in 2002. Meanwhile, the two highest amounts for leisure/education contributed by Turkey and Ireland stood at 32.14% and 28.91% respectively, while Ireland and Spain constituted the two lowest proportions in leisure/education, with the figures at 2.21% and 1.98%.
In 2002, the figures for food/drinks/tobacco and education/leisure between Italy and Sweden were relatively close in the approximaty of 16% and 3.2% , compared with clothing/footwear, where that for Italy recorded the largest among five countries at 9%, nearly 4% higher than for Sweden.
