The bar chart shows the information about the average hours of unpaid work per week done by married men and women in different categories ( without children, 1-2 children,3+ children). unpaid work refers to such activities as childcare in the home, housework, and gardening.
Overall, married women dominated the average hours of unpaid work per week compared to men in all of these categories.
Looking first at people without children, women spent approximately 30 hours per week on unpaid work, whereas the figure for men was considerably lower at around 19 hours. In families with one or two children, the amount of unpaid work carried out by women increased significantly to just over 50 hours per week. By contrast, men’s contribution remained almost unchanged at roughly 19 hours.
Among households with three or more children, women devoted the greatest amount of time to unpaid work, reaching approximately 60 hours per week. In contrast, the figure for men decreased slightly to around 15 ho
urs.
