Overall, Shakefield ‘s facilities have been improved for entertainment activities with farmland replaced by golf and tennis courses. Additionally, housing and hotels have been enlarged.
By the north-west of the town, the residential area has been expanded to add up more housing. Behind this area, there were three sport arenas in 1995 and then being substituted with restaurants. The two hotels which were opposite the sport have been leveraged to have third floors.
According to the north-east, the farm land has been removed and paved way for golf and tennis courses with more trees planted . The public park has been replaced by holiday homes and trees surrounding it were cut off. To the south-east of holiday homes, a car park has been erected.
In the south-west, the fish-selling area has been transformed into apartments. The coffee opposite the fish market remained unchanged until now. To the south of the coffee, the morning fish boat was removed; meanwhile there has been some yacht added in the south-east.
