The pictures illustrate the transformation of a small fishing village between 1974 and the present day from a coastal area into a large Europian tourist resort

Essentially, the fishing village has been transformed from a coastal town into a part of wonderful tourist destination beaches. This development has led an increase in population from 12.000 to 80.000 and an additional number of tourist beds at 50.000.

In 1974, the fishing village was located close to the sea containing some fundamental places such as hills, woodland areas, an olive grove, and an livestock farm. Along bottom side of the hills, there were two the other villages locating at the western side and eastern side of the hills.

Moving on to look in more detail at the data, today the small fishing village surrounded by some modern tourist features such as beaches, skyscrapers, hotels, and residential areas. The harbour has ceased function as a public facility and now has been replaced by two beaches. There have also been provided a new additional road to connect between coastel area to the hills area.
