These two maps show changes of a fishing village between 1974 and now.
Essentially, the fishing village has been repurposed from a rural area to a commercial zone. The most noticeable changes are public facilities, the accommodation, and the farmland. The population of the fishing village also has increased from 12,000 to 80,000.
In 1974, there was the woodland, a harbour, the farmland for sheep and goats and three villages. Two villages were located near the mountain and one village was located near the seashore. The woodland was at the western of olives, while the farmland of sheep and goats was at the eastern.
Over the years, a main road has been constructed from the beach to the mountain. In addition, several public services have been built such as hotels with 50,000 beds alongside the beach, and a golf course, and also tourist shops at the north-west of the village. The farmland of sheep and goats has ceased to function and has been moved near the hotel. It has become the farmland of vegetable and fruit to support hotel needs. The beach has been expanded, meanwhile, the harbour has been demolished.
