The image shows the floor plan for the Central Library, with various sections labeled for specific purposes. At the entrance, there is a computer room on the left and a café on the right. Moving towards the center, the left side has a section for children's fiction books, a seating area with sofas, and a sofa corner, while the right side has sections for all reference books, newspapers and magazines, and tables and chairs for reading. Towards the rear, there is a lecture room and an adult non-fiction books section on the left, and an adult fiction books section with couches on the right. The center rear has the central library staff area, with exits on either side, leading to the adult desk with fiction books for adults on the left and a children's desk with fiction books for children on the right. The COVID guidelines are mentioned on the top right corner, indicating limited entry and exit points and a one-way system in place, while the top left corner indicates the capacity for the library to be 390 people.

Now, I would like to compare the library’s floor plan as it is today with how it looked 20 years ago. Firstly, it’s noticeable that there are no chairs or tables in the center of the library now. To me, this gives it a modern feel and makes it look more comfortable.
Secondly, we can see that the children’s book room has moved from the right side of the library to the left room, where they have added storytelling events with sofas. I think this is a delightful idea because many children enjoy having stories told to them. It helps expand their minds and makes them more open to new ideas.
Additionally, they have transformed the enquiry desk into a café. In my opinion, this is quite an amazing decision because everyone needs to eat, and it could generate more revenue for the library. We can also notice the computer room, which was present 20 years ago, has now been relocated to the top right corner.
Overall, while the first plan was functional, it wasn’t as comfortable as the second one. The current layout is more modern and designed to accommodate people’s needs more effectively.
