The picture describes the reproduction of a butterfly.
Overall, there are a lot of stages in the life of a butterfly from an egg to an adult individual.
In the beginning of the process, after mating, the female butterfly will lay eggs and these products will become caterpillars after a time. Subsequently, these will consume leaves and curl up themself into their cocoon called chrysalis.
The process continues with these caterpillars will live in the chrysalis stage for a time until they become mature enough and have the ability to destroy their cocoon to get out. They are then able to be outside by themselves, an adult successfully emerges but after a long time living in the narrow space, they need to practice more and more to become entirely an adult butterfly. Finally, the process begins again.
