The diagram indicates various stages of how a frog matures.
It can clearly be seen that the whole cycle has a total of eight stages. The cycle starts with adult frogs’ mating and ends with the mature frog.
At the beginning of the process, male and female adult frogs mate on land, producing eggs which contains embryos. These eggs lay on the water. After that, those frog spawn hatch, and tadpoles cling to water plants. The tadpoles then expand and develop their gills and tails.
In the next stages, lower limbs are formed, followed by significant changes in which their front legs are developed, and they begin pulmonary breathing. They then get out of water and start to live on the ground as amphibians. During this stage, frogs’ tails shorten; when they become young frogs, this feature disappears. Eventually, young frogs grow into mature ones. The life cycle starts again with the mating session between two adult frogs.
