Overall, the life cycle of bees takes 34-36 days. It begins with eggs and, after six stages of development, ends with mature adult bees. Once they reach maturity, female bees are able to lay one or two eggs every three days, allowing the cycle to begin again.
For the first 20 days of their lives, bees do not have wings. After 9-10 days, the eggs hatch, and the young bees do not yet have a stinger. A further five days later, they experience their first moult, during which their black colour is still not fully developed.
A week after the first moult, bees develop their wings. At this stage, they undergo their second moult, and their colours become fully visible. After a further nine days, young adult bees emerge. Finally, four days later, they reach full maturity and become capable of reproduction, completing the entire life cycle in just over a month.
