The two floor plans illustrate the layout of the ground floor of a school library in 2001 and the changes that took place after renovation in 2009.
Overall, the library was significantly modernized, with new sections introduced for children and technology. Some of the original book sections were reorganized or replaced to make better use of the available space.
In 2001, the library had a simple layout. The librarian’s desk was located near the entrance, opposite the stairs, and most of the central area was occupied by tables for reading. Along the right-hand side, there was a section for newspapers and periodicals, while the fiction books occupied the upper area. On the left side, there were shelves for history and self-help books.
By 2009, the layout had changed noticeably. A children’s area and children’s books section were added to the top of the room, replacing part of the fiction section. The fiction area itself was moved to the left side, and several new categories, including law, economics, and kitchen, were introduced along the same wall. The newspapers and periodicals were replaced by a films and DVDs section on the right, and computers were installed nearby, indicating the integration of modern technology. Despite these major changes, the librarian’s desk and stairs remained in their original positions.
