The two maps illustrate the current layout and the proposed development plan for the biomedical campus of a university.
Overall, it is evident that the campus will undergo significant urbanization. The main changes involve the removal of greenery to facilitate the construction of new research facilities and the expansion of parking areas.
In the northern section, beyond the main road, the large area currently occupied by trees is set to be cleared. In its place, two new buildings, namely “Genetics 1” and “Bio-imaging,” will be constructed. Additionally, the existing car park in the top right corner will be designated specifically for students.
Regarding the southern section, the central walkway will remain, but the surrounding infrastructure will see notable alterations. To the west of the walkway, the trees will be removed to make way for a new diagonal road leading to a newly built cylindrical-shaped staff car park in the southwest corner. While the Lab and Biochemistry buildings will remain unchanged, on the eastern side of the walkway, the Biotech building is planned to be expanded. Furthermore, the existing Genetics building will be renamed “Genetics 2,” while the adjacent Lab will remain as it is.
