The provided images illustrate how plastic bottles are recycled.
Overall, it is a cyclical manufacturing process which consists of nine steps. The starting point for the cycle is when consumers take out the recycling and throw away used plastic bottles. These are then picked up by a refuse collector and delivered to the garbage sorting station, where they are sorted out manually by employees to ensure other types of material do not interfere with the production.
Next, the selected bottles and caps are compressed into blocks and crushed by two rotating circular blades into tiny pieces that will be carefully washed before they can be exploited further in the manufacture. The cleaned shreds of plastic are passed through the machine producing plastic pellets, which will be heated later to form raw material.
This material will be molded in lumps to ease storage and delivery and can be used to produce finite products, such as synthetic containers, bottles, bags, pencils and even clothes to be sold to consumers.
