The process illustrates how pineapples are cultivated and how goods are produced from them
Overall, the process begins with the cultivation of pineapple crowns until they are fully grown, then the fruits are sorted into three different sizes for various purposes.
Pineapples are planted 26 centimeters apart and grown in temperatures ranging from 23 to 30°C. After seven months, they are treated with ethylene to support ripening. Five months later, the fully grown fruits reach an ideal shape, with a height of around 30 cm and a weight of approximately 2 kilograms
After harvesting, the pineapples are sorted into three categories based on their size: small, medium, and large. Small pineapples are peeled before being crushed by an extractor to produce juice. Medium-sized ones are cut into slices and canned for preservation. In contrast, the largest fruits are waxed and carefully arranged for export, helping them stay fresh during transportation
