The diagram illustrates the process of cultivating pineapples and how they are prepared to produce various pineapple products.
Overall, the process consists of two main stages, beginning with the cultivation of pineapples and ending with manufacturing commercial goods such as juice, canned pineapples, and fresh exported fruit.
The first stage involves growing pineapples. It requires a warm climate of about 23-30°C. Crowns measuring about 26cm are grown for seven months, then ethaline is sprayed all over the pineapples. After growing for another five months, pineapples reach the height of 30cm and weigh 2kg.
In the second stage, cultivated fruits are turned into commercial products and ready for sale. First, they are washed properly. Then they are sorted out based on their sizes into three different groups. Smaller pineapples are cut into slices, and with the help of an extractor they are squeezed to produce juice. Medium sized fruits are cut in half, then into small pieces to conserve and produce canned pineapples. Finally, larger pineapples are washed and packed for export.
