The diagram shows the hydrologic cycle, which explains the process of water, the continous movement on, above and below the surface of the planet. Around 71% of Earth is surrounded by water, which initiates the water cycle process.
As a cause of evaporation, the water molecules from the bodies like oceans, gets evaporated. With addition to this, the trees also contribute in transpiration, where plants will be play a role in the cycle by fercolation of water. These water molecules then combine to form as clouds with the process called condensation.
Later, due to the process of precipiation, water molecules travels back to Earth as rain showers and as snow in higher altitudes like mountains. The rain along with the snowmelt, are the primary sources of small water bodies like lakes, which is used to save water for further purposes. While that water stays in lakes, there are some groundwater flows below the surface of earth, which sources water to oceans for the life cycle of water to repeat indefinitely.
