The diagram depicts the natural process of the hydrologic cycle which is known as the water cycle.
Overall, the cycle is driven by solar energy and it involves three main phases: the evaporation of water, the precipitation, and the collection into the ocean.
The water cycle begins with evaporation which is driven by sun heat. Water transforms from lakes to oceans and the water vapors and rises to the atmosphere. This vapor cools and condenses to form clouds. Precipitation occurs and the water comes back to the surface of earth. The water leaks to the soil and the percolation process starts. Moreover, a part of this groundwater flows toward the lake and ocean.
At the same time, water is also transferred from land to the atmosphere through transpiration, which trees release vapor into the air. Furthermore, the melting snow in the mountains flows into the lake. As a result, this processes creates continuous circulation of water, which supports ecosystem
