The picture illustrates the two types of way to manufacture black tea and the showcases the details of a process.
Overall, there are 5 main process without them black tea would not be fully ready. First is collecting tea leaves than collected leaves are withered to blow out the moist. Third stage is sorting tea leaves to loose tea and tea bags, after that comes fermentation. In final stage the oxidisated products are fully dried to get all excess moist gone.
The process starts from carefully picking fresh tea leaves, only leaves that are on the top of the plant are collected for good quality tea. After this process all the leaves are put on a rack to be withered by fan. This helps get the 60% of moist out of the leave.
Thereafter, all good stuff are categorised into two methods; traditional method which producess loose tea, modern tea which producess tea bags. In order to make the traditional black tea withered leaves are rolled down to flat or broken state and the enzymes inside are released. When it comes to modern method tea leaves are quickly cut down to small curled pieces.
For penultimate process categorated leaves are spread on cement for fermentation. In this process from enzyme’s and air’s interference leaves color turn to copper like color. Final step is to completely dry out al the leaves. Although,in withering phase moist is dried out but not completely. Therefore, in finale process 97% moisture is out. As a result, the classic scent and taste of black tea is produced.
