This diagram illustrates how olive oil is produced. Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that there are three main stages involved in the procedure of making olive oil, which begins with harvesting and treatment, followed by production of the oil, and finally storage for future use.
Initially, the process of oil manufacturing commences with olives being harvested from trees and placed in a collection vat. Then, the berries need to be cleaned with water through a de-leafing washing machine before they are put into an olive mill to crush them into an olive paste. Subsequent to this, the paste goes through a malaxer set under not less than 27°C temperature. Once malaxer is done, the second stage ends when the paste enters a centrifugal press which creates either virgin oils or pomace.
Following these stages, pomace can undergo further processing at refining factories while virgin oils are either separated with wastewater or decanted with solid and water. Upon completion of this process, both products are reserved in a storage tank to use for further purposes.
