The diagram provides information about the detailed steps involved in making pulp and paper.
Overall, the process mainly consists of several stages for producing both pulp and paper. The main source for producing pulp is trees, while the key material for making both rough and refined paper is cleaned and refined pulp.
To begin with, logs excavated from trees are chipped with the aid of a large chipper. The chips then undergo a digestion process in a digester to extract pulp, followed by cleaning and screening to remove impurities and contaminants.
In the production of rough paper, the purified pulp is dried with a specialized dryer before being formed into a pulp reel. The reel is then cut into paper bales for making boxes. Meanwhile, for producing refined paper, the cleaned pulp is dried in a similar way to rough paper production. Thereafter, the dried pulp is pressed under pressure to form a paper sheet. The refined paper is then made into a roller and used for printing purposes later on.
