The diagram shows how pulp and paper are made through several stages.
Overall, the process begins with trees and ends with two different types of paper: rough paper for boxes and refined paper for printing.
First, trees are cut into logs and then they are chipped in a machine. Some chips are also purchased from other places. These chips go into a digester and then through washers. After that, a pulp screen is used to clean the pulp.
After that, the process splits into two parts. To make rough paper for boxes, the pulp goes through a pulp former and dryers. Then it is put on a pulp reel and cut into paper bales. However, to make refined paper for printing, the pulp must go through pulp cleaners and dryers first. It is then pressed in pulp presses and paper presses to make it smooth. Finally, it is dried again and rolled into large paper rolls.
