The line graph illustrates the average level of people taking part high-level football matches in three European countries : Italy, England and Germany between 1980 and 2004.

Overall, it can be seen that, the number of attendees in all three countries fluctuated during the period shown. However, despite these variations, the figures for England and Germany ended higher than their starting points.

To begin with Italy people’s showed the greatest interest for football matches that commenced with 35,000 in 1980 and then it plummeted sharply from 37,000 in 1986 to 25,000 in 2004.

Looking at the graph in more detail, England attendees started with approximately with 27,000 in 1980, then it declined slightly to 23,000 respectively. Subsequently, it showed modest but consistent rise from 23,000 to roughly 33,000 people. Meanwhile, Germany started with 25,000 people and by 1986, it experienced a sharp drop roughly around 17,000. After that, it showed more substantial increase from 17,000 to 34,000 people.
