The diagram illustrates the process of how electricity is transferred from power plant to home. In this process, there are six stages are included. This process starts from power plant where electricity is generated and ends at home where it is consumed.
Firstly, in the power plant the huge amount of electricity is generated by using turbines which are rotated either by fossil fuels or water dams. Power plant generates less amount of electricity voltages which further goes to the step-up transformer. After stepping up the voltages it is then processed to the transmission line where it is transmitted to the transmission substation. It then further transmit it to the distribution substation. The distribution substation distribute it to the transformers.
Lastly, the transformers step down the voltages to the requirement of household (like 220V to 240V). The home get electricity from the transformer to glow lights in the house and other electricity appliances.
