The map represents the evolution of Liverton Docks since 1980. Overall, residential facilities on the river’s north and south sides have shifted. There have been a lot of major changes in the area, in terms of extra recreational space additions and building replacements.
Noticeably, the north of the river underwent extensive modifications with the demolition of two warehouses and an adjacent crane in 1980 to make way for an education center, sailing club and kid’s playground now. In the past, a crane originally located in the further top corner right hand has been converted into a flood barrier. Previously, there were four ships docked in the river, which has now been replaced by a ship museum and the appearance of a bridge connecting the two banks.
As can be seen, a newly constructed river walk along the south bank of the river. Besides that, a hotel was situated in the south of the river at the place where a crane used to be. Additionally, the warehouse in the south of the river has been converted into apartments and a parking lot.
