The diagram illustrates the way in which rainwater is accumulated to transform it into tap water for use in an Australian town.
Overall, the droplets of rain are gathered from the rooftops of houses and then go through filtration processing ending in a storage cylinder, after which it is treated with chemicals to produce tap water suitable for consumption.
Initially, the rain droplets are gathered on the rooftop and then enter a pipeline which goes along the side of the house down to the drain. The rainwater then goes underground and passes through the filtering device and after being filtered it goes sinks into a storage tank.
Afterwards, the rainwater passes from the storage tank through a pipe to the water treatment chamber where it gets exposed to different chemicals that process the water content and filter it. Then the water ascends up the pipe and ends up in a house where it is ready to be consumed by the residents.
