The diagram illustrates the process of manufacturing sugar from sugar canes in seven different steps, from utilizing sugar canes to obtaining fully harvested sugar. Overall, the process undergoes mechanical and chemical treatments, including crushing, purification, heating, and crystallisation.
It begins with growing sugar canes in soil for about 12-18 months, once they are fully grown, sugar cane is eventually harvested to go through the process of crushing to extract juice which is then clarified through limestone filter.
Subsequently, the clarified juice is then evaporated through a mechanical process to transform the juice into syrup. The syrup is boiled further until sugar crystals are formed. A centrifugation spins the sugar crystals to separate it from syrup. Afterwards, the final sugar crystals are dried, cooled, and packaged.
