The diagrams illustrate the current and future floor plans for the redevelopment of an art gallery.
Overall, Parkinson court will make use of existing space more efficiently. This is to accommodate students and visitors’ needs better.
Beside the entrance on the right of the exhibition that will be demolished, the remaining entrances along the top of the map will stay the same. The room on the left of the court that is abandoned in the existing plan will be converted into a special exhibition space with a small exhibition store in the north of it. The permanent exhibition space in the left-middle of the map will remain unchanged.
In the right half of the map, two temporary exhibition spaces, which are in the right-middle of the court, will all be combined with the mentioned permanent one into a big long-term exhibition in the middle of the map. On the far right, the lobby and the empty space on the top right corner will be changed into an education area. The current office on the south-west will be turned into a storage and plant room.
