The picture illustrates the process of producing frozen fish pies.
Overall, it is a multiple-staged, man-made, linear process. The manufacturing starts with fresh salmon and potatoes being delivered and results in the ready product, which is a stuffed fish pie topped with a sauce in a microwaveable container.
First, the process begins with the delivery of potatoes to the factory, which can take up to one month, before they are cleaned, peeled and cut into thin slices. Once cut, the potato slices are boiled and are subsequently chilled and stored for further usage.
Regarding salmon, its delivery takes less time, which is a maximum of 12 hours. As soon as delivered, fresh salmon cuts are seasoned with lemon juice and salt in order to enhance their flavor, prior to being put in a steam oven. After being cooked, skin and bones are removed and disposed by hand and clean cuts undergo the inspection. Before being wrapped in a microwave-friendly container, salmon pieces are mixed with prepared peas, sauce and potatoes. The final stage of the process is freezing the containers with fish pies so they are ready for being dispatched.
