First tunnel was built between 1986 and 1998, cost was 555 million dollars. The first tunnel’s has 1,5 meters deep and 2,2 kilometers long. The tunnel is not huge like second one, two line for going and two line for coming back we can see four lines. It was built under the water and sand.

On the other hand second tunnel was deeper than first one. It measured 2,5 meters deep and 3,6 kilometers lenght. That tunnel was costed nearly 1,1 billion dollars almost second for the first time. It was built from 2002 to 2006 with 6 lines. Top of the tunnel there is a highway and base made of stone and clay.

Second tunnel is more modern and comfortable for cars because there is more space for cars and that helps the traffic. Cost was highly different but with new technologies that is reasonable.
