The three doughnut charts compare the grocery shopping preferences of populations in The USA, England, and Switzerland across five specified retailers and a category for Others.
Overall, a single major retailer dominates in both the US and England, whereas the vast majority of Swiss residents choose unlisted stores. Walmart is the clear leader in The USA at 36%, followed by Tesco (20%). Tesco is the most popular choice in England, accounting for a significantly higher proportion of shoppers at 45%. In sharp contrast, 85% of the population in Switzerland choose Others, with Tesco being the only named chain to achieve over 5% of the market (6%).
The ‘Others’ category is also substantial in England (30%) but less prominent in The USA (16%). Conversely, Walmart and Abertons have negligible market share in Switzerland, accounting for only 4% and 1% respectively
