The diagrams depict 2 basic methods to filter and store water for household purposes. By and large, it is readily apparent that these are 2 different solutions: a cross section of filtering unit and an outdoor system for filling and storing treated water. What is more, both of those low-tech solutions emphasizes simplicity and functionality.
The first diagram features a 200-liter metal container filled with 3 distant layers including sand filter, tiny stones, and pipe holes. Water enters through the inlet and passes through sand filter, followed by a layer of tiny stones, which helps remove impurities/traps fine particles. At the bottom, pipe holes allow the filtered water to exit through an outlet for daily household use.
In the second diagram, untreated water flows into the sand filter, and then it enters a container where it is stored for use. A tap connected next to the storage area provides access for household use. This setup ensures consumption availability for domestic use.
