The digram illustrates how a rain-shadow desert is formed.
overall, the process consists of seven stages, beginning with winds approaching the coast and ending with dry winds reaching inland areas to form a rain-shadow desert.the digram shows two distinct side, which faces the sea,and the leeward side, which faces inland.IT is a liner process.
To begin with, strong winds approch the coast and are pushed upwards as they meet the mountains.Following this,on the windward side, the rising air cools, causing moisture within it to condense and form clouds. As a result, rain falls on the mountains.
Meanwhile,on the leeward side, the air has lost most of its moisture and remains dry as it countinues moveing over the mountain. Finally, the dry air desends the leeward slope and travels across the land as dry winds, eventually reaching inland areas and forming a rain-shadow desert.
