Overall, the town underwent a number of dramatic changes, the most important of which are the development of a large residential area and parking spaces.
In the north side of Felixstone, the eastern part was dominated by farmland, but then it was redeveloped into a tourism-oriented area, with the additions of a swimming pool, tennis courts and a hotel. Meanwhile, the nearby shops to the west of it were transformed into apartment complexes, while the golf course and shops opposite to the new residential area remained unchanged.
In the south side of the site, utilizing the strong winds in the area, wind turbines were erected between the south sea and the southwestern dunes. Additionally, a new private beach was introduced in the southeastern side of Felixstone, replacing the fish market there. There used to be a combination of a pier and marina positioned to the north of the sea, and in the middle of the south side, however the infrastructure had been demolished by 2001. Moreover, the hotel nearest to the wind turbines were reconstructed to merge with a newly erected car park, which caters to the needs of travellers, while the cafe to the east side of the hotel stayed the same.
