Overall, the layout of Felixstone underwent a variety of alterations, extensively modernized from a coastal area that mainly relied on farming and fishing activities to a tourist destination with a wide range of recreational facilities. These added amenities have turned Felixstone into a more visitor-oriented location.
Regarding the northern side of the road, a golf course remained unchanged on the top left-hand corner , serving as an entertainment facility for guests. However, the centre experienced numerous important modifications, which a high sreet was surrounded by two row of shop in 1967 being converted into shops and apartments in 2001. They also expanded in order to provide more services and accommodation for visitors and new settlers, which in turn helped generate greater revenue. There used to be a farmland in the right-hand corner, but then it was demolished to construct into a large apartment complex that included a swimming pool, a hotel, and two tennis courts. This redevelopment not only offered modern housing and leisure facilities for both residents and visitors but also enhanced Felixstone’s attractiveness to tourists
Considering the remaining area, the natural features consisting of sand dunes and trees stayed unaffected; however, four wind turbines were constructed nearby in 2001 to provide renewable energy for local people and visitors. Besides, there used to be a hotel and a cafe to the right of the sand dunes in 1967, but then it was expanded and attached to a car park, while the cafe remained unchanged. These modifications were intended to encourage tourists to stay longer and make greater use of local services. A pier and a marina in front of the cafe were replaced by a public beach, which provides more space for both visitors and local residents to relax. Similarly, the southwestern area was once occupied by a fish market, after which it was developed into a private beach, shifting from a traditional fishing town towards exclusive leisure services.
