The two diagrams illustrate the ways of fuel energy generated from brown and black coal and the amount of its loss during the stages when it finnally reaches consumers.
Overall, according to the diagrams, generation of electricity from black coal is more efficient than from brown coal. During both stages of generation of electricity: power station and transportation & distribution, there are losses in the amounts of both types of coal.
Looking more closely at the diagrams, it is noticeable that at the power station the decline in the number of brown coal units is larger than loss of black coal, with 70 units and 68 units respectively. In contrast, the stage of transportation & distribution generates the same amount of loss – 3 units of black and brown coal.
Additionally, it is worth to mention that generation of electricity from black coal is more profitable because at the end of the production there are 29 units of it, while only 27 units of electricity reaches consumers when it is made of brown coal.
