The plan outlines the modifications in a library’s space and function over five years.
Overall, the library has witnessed noticeable changes, with alternatives to facilities that match students’ needs and the technical development. However, the basic infrastructure of a school library has remained the same.
It can be clearly seen that the library used to have book shelves at the central top and central bottom, but the latter was replaced by a number of desks for students’ laptops after 5 years. Similarly, the computer area at the northeast corner was also changed into a space for students’ laptops. Furthermore, below it is a conference room, where there was once a library office.
At the southwest direction of the plan, the classroom was removed and displaced by a recording room, along with the meeting room decreasing in size. The old borrowing and returning desk was expanded and divided into two separate spots. Moreover, there was an addition in the count of studying tables. At the center of the library, turning the area into private studying desks.
