In the initial scenario, flooding affects the industrial park, residential area, and commercial buildings between River A and River B. Solution 1 involves relocating the industrial park and residential area away from the flood zone, offering environmental protection but with high costs. Solution 2 proposes building a dam, creating a reservoir above the industrial park and west of the residential area, thereby controlling flooding with low cost but potentially affecting land.

The following shows two solutions for flooding in a UK town. Overall, it is shown that although there are solutions, these solutions come with both advantages and disadvantaged.
Firstly, the first solution is to relocate. While this seems like a great idea with the advantage of environmental protection, it consequently has a disadvantage which is the high cost.
Secondly, the following solution is to build a dam. On the contrary to the first solution its’ advantage is that it is low cost. However, similarly to the first solution it also has a disadvantage which is that it can effect land.
In conclusion, it is shown that although one solution is low cost and the other is high cost, the low cost solution comes with a disadvantage and the high cost solution comes with a disadvantage.
