Overall. The highest number of students were recorded last year and five years ago. While French was the most commonly taken course, Italian was the least popular. German and Spanish, on the other hand came Second and third, respectively.
French-studying individuals fluctuating between 90-140, while German maintained a second rank, and its classes varied between 40 and 60. Although, in the past year, the number of students taking foreign language lessons were 200 – same as five years prior – German has become less popular than it was half a decade ago, with the popularity of French spiking by close to 40% (from 100 five years ago to 140 last year).
In contrast, Spanish and Italian students were no more than 30 in each of the four years, which is merely a fifth of French students. While the numbers of both Italian and Spanish students showed unstability over the four years shown, they were the lowest in the past year, with the former being taken by only 20 and the latter by 10.
