Presented for consideration is data pertaining to birth rate, the rate of population growth and death rate in Scotland from 1940 to 2020
In general, it can be determined that there was an excessive decrease in all rates which were surveyed. Additionally, the graph shows that there was a fluctuation in the birthrate and population growth rate, while the death rate consistently declined over the 80-year period, except for the year 2020.
Taking a closer look at the statistics reveals that the birth rate and the death rate generally decrease. In 1940, the percentage of people was given a birth was the highest one compared to the others at 2.5%. Then, it particularly dropped into 2.0% in 1945, 1.0% in 1965 and continued decreasing until 2020 at 0.5%, despite some upward trends were recorded during this time period. Additionally, the death rate immensely dropped into 0.5% in 1955 and went on lightly declining declining until 2015, it rose to approximately 1%.
Moving on to the other, the population growth rate witnessed a decrease in general. It was the lowest at the beginning, then it had an excessively upward trend to 1.5% between 1950 and 1960; however, the rate of population growth continued declining until 2005 at 0%.
