The bar charts illustrate the percentage of men and women doing certain kinds of housework and the amount of time which they daily spend.
Looking from an overall perspective, both males and females prefer the same activities, having the highest participation in cooking. In addition, though each gender spends different time on various activities, cooking and cleaning consume more time than the other tasks.
Considering the certain activities, cooking is the kind of housework done by the biggest percentage of men and women, with 60% and 80% respectively. Cleaning is the second ranked with 40% of men and 60% of women. The least percentage of people involved is demonstrated by the pet care bar at approximately 20% and the house repair bar at less than 20% for each gender.
Considering the amount of time each group spent on each task per day, the most time-consuming activities are cooking and cleaning. Men usually spend an hour, while women more than an hour to cook. Cleaning takes about 45 minutes to be done by males, whereas females tend to allocate more than 60 minutes. Both groups allow 20 minutes for pet care. However, men spend almost three times more on house repairs than women: approximately 19 minutes and 6 minutes respectively.
