The line graph shows the number of passengers travelling by train for travelling in Sydney. The accompanying graph provides information on the proportion of trains running on time from 1995 to 2004.

Overall, the number of travelers as using a train rose dramatically, after which it remained stable in the final years. Notably, the percentage of trains running on time fluctuated and experienced a rapid decline at the end of the given timeframe.

Turning to the number of passengers traveling by train as a mean of transportation increased steadily. Starting at 250 million passengers in the first year, the figure went up slightly to 260 million in the next year, and this was followed by a further growth just above 260 million passengers. After a slight upward pattern, the number reached its peak of 300 million travelers going by train in 2001. In spite of a significant rise in the number of train users, the figure then decreased marginally to 280 million and remained unchanged.

In 1995, almost nine out of ten trains ran on time, but the trend then underwent a modest dip to around 84%. From 2001 onwards, the proportion recovered to just above 90%, before going down sharpy in the final year to around 72%.
