The bar graph displays the different kinds of transportation used to travel in a European City around 1960, 1980 and 2000. Overall, the car has an increasing trend while bike and foot has a decreasing trend over a 40-year period. Moreover, buses had a fluctuating trend and had the most use in the year 1980.
In detail, it shows that buses were used the most in the 1980s and had a 8% growth from the 1960. Due to the fact that buses can carry many people at once it is quite a conventional use for many. But due to the fact that cars were a thing, it showed that in the 2000s the number of buses was lower than in the 1980s. Cars were used the most in the 2000s and had a rapid growth of 37% and as it gets more popular due to the fact you can bring it to everywhere you want and allows you to travel more safely and faster.
Bikes were used a lot back in the 1960s for about 25% people due to the fact that buses and cars weren’t that popular yet. But ever since the introduction of those two, you can see from the graph that the uses of bikes were extremely lowered for about 5% in the 1980s and 13% in the 2000s. Same thing goes for walking barefoot. In the 1960s walking seemed to be extremely normal and over 34% people chose to travel by walking but fast forward to the 2000s, less and less people chose to walk and about 22% lost in growth. It is interesting to see how different kinds of transports are used in different periods of time and as technology progresses and different transportations are introduced, some choices of transportations are no longer needed.
